FINAL-ly I'm Back

 Long Time No Blog

Hello readers! It's been way too long since I've been able to make a post. Life has been crazy lately, but that's life! I believe it's been two or three weeks due to such events like Thanksgiving Break, snow storms, and the worst of all, FINALS. So quick litle updates on that: Thanksgiving was wonderfully spent with my wonderful family, and my grandma brought out my mother's yearbook from the 7th grade - honestly funniest thing I've ever seen. My mom kept quoting, "I'm so confused. This book looks ancient!" WELL, mother dearest, hate to break the new to you but...... :) Mamaw also found my mom's old Girl Scout sash and code book. Too funny. And then came the real fun: Black Friday shopping! We always love to get in the hustle and bustle of all the crazy shoppers even if we aren't shopping for anything in particular ourselves. All in all, Thanksgiving was wonderfully spent with amazing family, and I truly am so SO blessed and thankful to have them in my life.

Hard Work Pays Off

With my very first semester of college under my belt as of TODAY - yay!, I have every reason to celebrate! I have had so much success in all of my classes, and the academic transition from high school to college was as smooth as it could get, and I have a few people to thank for that. Most importantly, I need to thank my absolutely amazing high school teachers for beyond preparing me for succes. I appreciated them in high school, but certainly not to the extent that I appreciate them now. They pushed me to be the best student I can be, and it's because of them that I was able to stay on top of everything in college. I would not be NEAR the quality student I am today if it weren't for them, and I almost want to write each and every one of them a thank you letter! BUT I think a simple visit back to say thanks would be just as effective, so I plan to do that tomorrow actually! To my readers who are still in high school: when you find yourself moaning and groaning about teachers assigning too much homework or multiple tests in one day, trust me you'll thank them later because news flash: professors in college aren't going to reschedule their exam because you have your big speech that day! All in all, I am so so thankful for the education I have been offered, and maybe someday, I will be the teacher pushing my own students to be their best, so they too, can succeed in college.

Boys are the most annoying creatures on the face of the earth.

Today after my last final exam, I had lunch with two good friends of mine, Caitlyn and Connor. To give a little background, Caitlyn, like me, has been single for a little while now, and Connor has been in a relationship for over a year - go him! However, Cait and I were discussing our many MANY boy problems because - hello - there are always boy problems... Here's a list of my favorite quotes from the discussion:

1. "You all are falling for all the boys. Men can start real relationships." -Connor
2. "I'm never getting married. Not kidding. I'm not gonna EVER get married." -Megan "You're so full of shit." -Connor "Haha well yeah..." -Megan
3. "I don't even want a pefect guy. Like I want him to be mean to me every once in awhile, just not screw me over." -Caitlyn "Yeah! Like call me a bitch or something. Keep it interesting!" -Megan
4. "I saw something the other day that said girls fall for the douchebags when they have perfectly good guys willing to date them, but they will forever be 'just friends'." -Connor "Yeah that's me. It's annoying. I can't even stop myself from doing it..." -Megan "My life." -Cait
5. "I've come to the conlusion that guys are born assholes, you've just got to pick one and put up with him forever." -Megan
6. "Oh my gosh that baby is toooo cute! Ugh. I'm never gonna get a baby because I'm never getting married. What is life." -Megan
7. "Okay, it is illegal to tell a girl you like her, make out with her, and then act like NOTHING happened. Freaking illegal." -Megan

And that about sums up our lunch conversation. It was mostly Cait and I complaining and Connor trying to stick up for his own breed, but let's face it: boys are annoying. Period. And just to add a little bit of my thoughts on the whole friend zone situation...

Dear guys would felt that they have been friend zoned,

You are probably a really REALLY nice guy. And this girl you've been friend zoned by recognizes that. She loves you for that, and yes, you can say that you would treat her nice and give her the world and never hurt her BUT she still might not want to go there with you. This has nothing to do with how attractive you are or not. You can be an attractive, smart, loving, caring, gentlemen and STILL get friend zoned. If a girl doesn't see you as a potential boyfriend because you are too good of friends, then you are too good of friends. The end. They can't help it, and maybe someday they'll have a change of heart, but if she saw you as a boyfriend, she would probably pursue it because you're probably a really good guy. Trust me, us girls will find ourselves thinking: "Why do I fall for guys who aren't treating me half as good as (insert you name here) would treat a girl?" Here's the answer: we don't know, and I hope it's something you grow out of someday because I'm tired of it, you're tired of it, everyone's tired of it, but it's not like we do it on purpose. We are genetically wired that way, and that's about all I have on that.

This is the conclusion for this post, and I promise I will try my hardest to not abandon you all for a random 2 weeks again with fair warning. To all of my friends who are finished with finals - congrats we made it! And to all of my friends who are still finishing finals - you are SO close, keep pushing through! And to all the guys out there who think it's fun to play with a girl's heart - newsflash: it's illegal. I just decided.

Stay classy,
Megan LouAnn
